Water Fire Extinguisher
Poseidon’s Water Fire Extinguisher series is suitable for extinguishing Class A fires (garbage, wood, and paper). Designed and manufactured according to UL/ULC 2A standards, it has a capacity of 2.5 gallons (9.5 L), and the stream of water maintains a continuous discharge time of 45–65 seconds at a spray distance of 12–18 m (40–60 ft), ensuring complete extinguishment without reignition for both wood cribs (112 pieces) and panels (10 ft × 10 ft).
The 2.5-gallon water fire extinguisher features a deep-drawn steel/aluminum cylinder with a thick-walled polished stainless steel cylinder and an all-metal valve structure, ensuring stable pressure resistance without leakage at a normal working pressure of 100–195 psi (0.7–1.35 MPa). It can withstand up to three times the working pressure without ductile failure or fragmentation.
Poseidon offers customization, design, and OEM services for Water Fire Extinguishers based on UL/ULC 2A standards, and provides certification testing support for UL/NFPA standards.
Poseidon water extinguishers are designed for operating temperatures of +40°F to +120°F (≈4–49°C), utilizing a 12–18 m (40–60 ft) stream of water to extinguish Class A fires caused by wood, paper, fabric, trash, and plastics (non-metallic solids) through cooling, soaking, and penetration.
The water fire extinguisher features a robust and durable impact-resistant metal valve, handle, and lever, and has undergone multiple drop tests from 0.9–1.0 m (≈36 in) to ensure functionality in critical situations. The water fire extinguisher utilizes a deep-drawn steel/aluminum cylinder with a thick-walled structure, designed and tested for 48–96 hours of corrosion (salt spray) resistance, ensuring long-term storage in harsh environments without affecting structure or operation.
Poseidon has conducted the following tests on standard water-based fire extinguishers (2.5 gallons) in its internal laboratory:
- Fire Test (Wood Crib): 112 pieces of 38 mm × 38 mm (2 in × 2 in) wood pieces, 635 mm (25 in) long, stacked in 16 layers with 7 pieces per layer, extinguished with a single extinguisher without re-ignition.
- Fire Test (Wood Panel): 10 ft × 10 ft wood panel, extinguished with a single extinguisher without re-ignition.
- Pressure Resistance: Operating pressure of 100–195 psi (0.7–1.35 MPa) with no leakage; pressure test ≥ 2 × operating pressure with no permanent deformation; ≥ 3 × operating pressure with ductile failure, no fragmentation.
- Drop Test: 10 drops from a height of 0.9–1.0 m (≈36 in), still functional after drops.
- Corrosion Test: 48–96 hours in a salt spray environment without affecting structure or operation.
- Discharge Time: 55 seconds uninterrupted.
- Discharge Distance: 18m (60 ft), covering panel + crib.
The water fire extinguisher series comes with a 5-year manufacturer’s warranty, and after-sales maintenance and OEM services are available depending on the region.
Class A Fire Performance (2-A Test Basis):Designed to extinguish UL 711–defined 2-A Class A fire load (wood crib + wood panel), equivalent to 112 wood members, using a single extinguisher and continuous discharge.
Extinguishing Capacity: Approx. 2.5 gal (9.5 L) water, suitable for ordinary combustible fires (wood, paper, cardboard, textiles).
Discharge Performance: Continuous discharge time ≥50 s; effective stream reach 40–60 ft (12–18 m).
Pressure Design: Service pressure 100–195 psi; pressure integrity designed for ≥2× proof pressure and ≥3× burst pressure.
Mechanical Durability: Structural design suitable for ~36 in (0.9–1.0 m) drop impact without loss of function.
Environmental Operating Range: +40°F to +120°F (4°C to 49°C); optional antifreeze configuration available for low-temperature use.
Construction: Metal cylinder with corrosion-resistant finish; pressure gauge for visual status check.
Mounting Configuration: Compatible with wall and vehicle brackets; OEM / private-label configurations available.
Transport Configuration: Supplied empty for safe handling and transport.
