CO₂ Fire Suppression System

The Poseidon CO₂ Fire Suppression System is an engineered carbon dioxide system designed in accordance with NFPA 12 for total flooding and local application fire protection.
CO₂ Fire Suppression System utilizes carbon dioxide (CO₂) as a gaseous extinguishing agent that is residue-free, electrically non-conductive, and ideal for normally unoccupied areas such as engine rooms, turbine enclosures, and flammable-liquid storage spaces.
By rapidly lowering oxygen concentration below the combustion threshold, this fire suppression system achieves effective suppression without water damage or chemical residue.

When the detection network activates, the CO₂ fire suppression discharge releases high concentrations of carbon dioxide into the protected area through precision-engineered nozzles. Within seconds, the atmosphere reaches the design threshold of approximately 34–40 % CO₂ by volume, preventing combustion and ensuring rapid extinguishment.
This pressure CO₂ system supports both high-pressure carbon dioxide systems and centralized piped configurations, enabling total flooding or local application coverage through selector valves.

For personnel protection, safety measures required by NFPA 12—including pre-discharge audible and visual alarms, time delay, manual abort switches, and post-discharge ventilation—are fully integrated.
The CO₂ fire suppression system’s control logic is managed via a UL 864 releasing panel linked to cross-zone smoke, heat, or flame detectors. Cylinders manufactured to DOT-3AA / ISO 9809 / ISO 11118 standards ensure mechanical integrity and consistent discharge performance under demanding field conditions.

  • Fast and Effective Suppression – Reaches extinguishing concentration within 20–60 s, minimizing fire spread.

  • Residue-Free Carbon Dioxide CO₂ System – No water or particulate cleanup required, preserving equipment.

  • Flexible Total Flooding or Local Application Design – Configurable as cylinder banks or multi-zone networks.

  • Integrated Fire Systems Control – UL-listed releasing panel and cross-zone detection network.

  • Comprehensive Safety Measures – NFPA 12-compliant alarms, delay, abort, and post-ventilation procedures.

  • Durable High-Pressure CO₂ Components – DOT/ISO-certified cylinders and corrosion-resistant manifolds.

The Poseidon CO₂ fire suppression solution protects critical, normally unoccupied areas requiring fast and residue-free response:

  • Engine Rooms and Marine Vessels – IMO SOLAS-aligned protection for propulsion and auxiliary machinery spaces.

  • Power Generation & Turbines – Suppresses oil-based fires and electrical faults in nacelles and generator enclosures.

  • Chemical & Process Industries – Handles flammable-liquid hazards where water-based systems are unsuitable.

  • Manufacturing Plants – Safeguards localized production cells through local application nozzles.

  • Utility & Transformer Rooms – Controls electrical arc fires with carbon dioxide CO₂ total-flooding systems.

Occupancy Notice: This CO₂ fire suppression system is intended for unoccupied areas only.
For continuously staffed or electronic facilities, specify NFPA 2001 clean-agent or water-mist alternatives.
