Fiberglass Fire Blanket

Poseidon’s fiberglass fire blanket is a professional-grade fire suppression textile made from 100% E-glass fiberglass fabric, providing fast and clean fire control across residential, commercial, and industrial environments. Designed to smother flames and block oxygen, this fire blanket is ideal for grease fires, electrical fires, and other small fires where speed and safety are critical.

Tested to ASTM F1989, NFPA 701, and UL94 VTM-0 test methods, it ensures consistent flame retardancy and heat endurance — withstanding up to 550 °C (1022 °F) continuously and short peaks of 1200 °C (2192 °F). Combining reliability, flexibility, and reusability, Poseidon’s fire blanket offers a cleaner, safer alternative to traditional fire extinguishers.
(Not classified as PPE. Safe for emergency personal use, but not intended for prolonged skin contact.)

Size:

The fire blanket is woven from non-asbestos E-glass fiberglass, known for its low thermal conductivity and excellent dimensional stability. This material ensures that the blanket works by quickly depriving flames of oxygen and isolating radiant heat, extinguishing grease fires and electrical fires within seconds.

Each fire blanket is available in plain, twill, or satin weave, tailored for different handling flexibility. Edges are overlocked with aramid or fiberglass thread to prevent fraying, and optional silicone, PU, or acrylic coatings minimize fiber dust and enhance oil and water repellence.

Tested under ASTM D578 and ASTM D6413, Poseidon’s fiberglass fire blanket demonstrates stable thermal and mechanical properties, making it a preferred choice for fire extinguishers alternatives in kitchens, hotels, and industrial sites. Available sizes range from 1 m × 1 m to 2 m × 2 m (3.28 ft × 3.28 ft to 6.56 ft × 6.56 ft) with thicknesses between 0.4–3 mm (0.02–0.12 in). All models can be wall-mounted in PVC pouches or supplied in rolls for industrial coverage.

  • Tested to international standards: ASTM F1989-05 (2020), EN 1869:2019, AS/NZS 3504:2006 (R2019), and materials tested to UL94 VTM-0 and NFPA 701 Methods 1 & 2.

  • Temperature endurance: Continuous up to 550 °C (1022 °F); short-term 1200 °C (2192 °F).

  • High tensile strength: ≥ 450 N (≈ 100 lbf) per ASTM D5035 for reliable mechanical durability.

  • Eco-friendly & safe: Non-asbestos, halogen-free, and reusable after inspection.

  • Flexible installation: Available with grommets, overlocked edges, or framed holders for fast deployment in emergencies.

  • Blanket works mechanism: By cutting off oxygen and reflecting heat, the fire blanket quickly stops combustion and prevents reignition without leaving chemical residue.

  • Home and Kitchen Safety: Effectively extinguishes grease fires and small fires on stoves or ovens; an essential replacement or backup for fire extinguishers.

  • Hotels and Commercial Buildings: Mounted in visible areas for fast access, protecting kitchens and public zones.

  • Laboratories and Industrial Sites: Provides containment during electrical fires, chemical reactions, or minor explosions.

  • Automotive and Outdoor Use: Suitable for vehicle, BBQ, or camp fires where a clean, reusable solution is preferred.

  • Gas Stations and Workshops: Controls local small fires in flammable zones without damaging equipment or electronics.

Poseidon fire blankets are tested to international standards.
They are intended for oxygen isolation and equipment protection during small fires, grease fires, and electrical fires, not as personal protective equipment (PPE).
All performance values are derived from controlled ASTM and NFPA test conditions; field results may vary depending on environment and installation.

fiberglass fire blanket Usage Guidelines
  1. Proper Deployment:
Ensure the fire blanket is mounted in a visible and accessible location, such as near kitchens, garages, or laboratories.

  2. Fire Extinguishing:
Gently place the fire blanket over the fire source to smother flames. For personal fires, wrap the blanket around the affected individual to extinguish flames safely.

  3. Cleaning and Storage:
Inspect the fire blanket after use for signs of damage. Store in the provided PVC bag or box to prevent contamination or wear.

  4. Reusable Design:
The fire blanket can be reused multiple times as long as there are no tears, burns, or other damages.
