Welding Blanket

Poseidon’s fireproof welding blankets deliver high-performance fire and heat protection for welding, cutting, and metalworking operations. Tested to UL 94 and NFPA 701 methods, these flame retardant fire blankets protect equipment, floors, and nearby work surfaces from sparks, molten metal, and UV radiation.
Constructed from advanced welding blanket materials — including E-glass fiberglass and 96 % silica fabrics — and finished with silicone, vermiculite, acrylic, or graphite coatings, they combine superior heat resistance, flexibility, and chemical durability for long-term industrial use.

Each Poseidon welding blanket is engineered for consistent performance in high-temperature environments. The welding blanket material selection includes fiberglass and high-silica fabrics offering continuous resistance from 550 °C (1022 °F) up to 1000 °C (1832 °F), with short-term peaks reaching 1900 °C (3452 °F) for molten metal splash exposure.
Available flame retardant coatings provide specialized benefits:

  • Silicone coating – flexible, oil-resistant, and easy to clean.

  • Vermiculite coating – superior slag and spark resistance for heavy-duty welding.

  • Graphite coating – oxidation and chemical splash protection.

  • Acrylic coating – economical FR finish for light-duty work areas.

Each fireproof welding blanket is reinforced with para-aramid (Kevlar®-equivalent) stitching and fitted with nickel-plated or stainless-steel grommets (15 mm Ø every 24–36 in / 610–914 mm) for secure installation. Available as pre-cut sheets or rolls, they integrate seamlessly with other flame retardant fire blankets, curtains, or welding enclosures.

  • Tested to UL 94 (V0/V1) and NFPA 701 Methods 1 & 2 for flame spread and after-flame duration.

  • Continuous heat tolerance: 550 °C – 1000 °C (1022 °F – 1832 °F); short-term exposure to 1900 °C (3452 °F).

  • High mechanical durability: abrasion-resistant welding blanket materials with long service life.

  • Chemical and UV-resistant surface coatings for industrial and outdoor use.

  • Quick setup with reinforced edges and standardized grommet spacing.

  • OEM / Private Label Options – customized color, logo, and packaging for distributors or OEM partners.

  • Welding and Cutting Zones – Primary use as a welding blanket or welding mat to protect nearby structures, machinery, and floors.

  • Metalworking & Foundry Operations – Heavy-duty flame retardant blankets for slag, sparks, and molten metal containment.

  • Construction & Shipbuilding – Portable fire blankets for confined-space or elevated welding operations.

  • Industrial Maintenance – Shields equipment during grinding, cutting, or hot-work repair.

  • Automotive & Chemical Plants – Suitable for heat-isolating work areas with flame retardant coatings to prevent surface ignition.
